What we need to wind a roll correctly
These four numbers decide whether the roll loads into your machine or sits in a corner:
- Core diameter — commonly 25 mm, 40 mm or 76 mm
- Maximum outer diameter your applicator accepts
- Gap between labels and labels per roll
- Unwind direction — which edge of the label leaves the roll first, and whether it faces in or out
If you do not know them, send a photo of the roll you use now, or the machine’s label bay. That is usually faster than reading a manual.

Art paper and mirrorkote for dry indoor use and short-life labelling. White polypropylene and vinyl where the sticker label meets moisture, a chiller or a humid store. Polyester where it faces solvent wipe-down, heat or long outdoor exposure. Direct thermal for labels printed on your own desktop printer and used the same week. Thermal-transfer stock where the print has to last, paired with the correct ribbon.

Yes. Tell us the printer model, the label size and whether it is direct thermal or thermal transfer, and we will supply stock that suits it.
What is the minimum quantity for a roll run?
Roll work has a practical floor because of setup, but it is lower than most people expect. Send your real quantity and we will tell you plainly whether roll or sheet is the better format for it.
